About Sebes
Sebeș (German: Mühlbach, Hungarian: Szászsebes) is a city in Alba County founded by German Transylvanian Saxon settlers in the 12th century. It became an important medieval Saxon city and was the first in Transylvania to be completely surrounded by masonry walls. Transylvanian voivode John I Zápolya died here in 1540. Today Sebeș is a dynamic economic hub at the crossroads of the A1 and A10 motorways, with one of Romania's lowest unemployment rates.
