Ozoro

Ozoro is a town in central Delta State, the headquarters of Isoko North Local Government Area and one of the region's commercial centres for the Isoko people. By tradition, it was founded by Opute, who migrated with his wife Ozoro from the ancient Benin Kingdom to Isokoland around the 7th century. The town is home to the Delta State University of Science and Technology (formerly Delta State Polytechnic, upgraded to university status), which includes a large stadium, making Ozoro an educational hub for the area. Shell Petroleum Development Company and the Nigerian National Petroleum Company have both developed oil wells and platforms around Ozoro and the wider Isoko area.

The dry season (November–March) is the best time to visit.
