About Ughelli

Ughelli is a major town in central Delta State, the headquarters of Ughelli North LGA and the traditional headquarters of the Urhobo people. It is one of the most important towns in Urhobo land and a growing commercial centre. The town is also known for the Ughelli Power Plant, one of Nigeria's largest thermal power stations.

The dry season (November–March) is the best time to visit.

By Plane

The nearest airport is Osubi Airport (Warri), about 60 km south.

By Train

No passenger rail service.

By Car / Road

Ughelli is on the East-West Road. Buses run from Warri (1 hr), Asaba (2 hrs), and Port Harcourt (2 hrs).

Tricycles and taxis are the main local transport.
