Ugep

Ugep is a large town in Cross River State, the headquarters of the Yakurr local government area. It is known for the Leboku New Yam Festival, a spectacular annual celebration featuring colourful masquerades, traditional dances, and the display of the region's agricultural wealth. Ugep's rich cultural heritage is also expressed through its traditional architecture and the Nkwa dance performances. The town has a lively market and is a centre for cassava and yam production.

Ugep is on the Calabar–Ikom road, about 1.5 hours north of Calabar. Buses from Calabar and Ikom pass through.
