Biase is a local government area in southern Cross River State, located in the Cross River floodplain. Its towns include Akpet, Itigidi, and Umon. The area is known for its riverine fishing communities and extensive cassava and plantain farms. Biase's mangrove creeks and freshwater swamps support a rich aquatic ecosystem. Canoe transport is common in the more remote settlements. The Itigidi market is the main commercial centre.

By Plane

Margaret Ekpo International Airport (CBQ) in Calabar is about 70 km south-east.

By Car / Road

Biase is west of Calabar, reachable via the Calabar–Itu road. Taxis run from Calabar to Itigidi (1.5 hr).

Okada serve the main roads. Canoes are used in the creeks.
