Uli

Anambra, Nigeria

Why visit Uli?

Uli is a town in Anambra State, located in the Ihiala local government area. It is best known as the site of the former Uli Airstrip, which served as the primary airport for the Republic of Biafra during the Nigerian Civil War (1967–1970). The airstrip's concrete remnants are a historical landmark of the Biafran airlift, which brought in relief supplies. Today, Uli is an agricultural centre producing yam, cassava, and oil palm.
