Why visit Agulu?

Agulu is a town in Anambra State, renowned for the Agulu Lake and Crocodile Lake, a natural water body inhabited by crocodiles considered sacred by the local community. The lake is a minor tourist attraction where visitors can observe the reptiles from a safe distance. Agulu is also known for its pottery and carving traditions. The town sits in a lush, hilly landscape and celebrates an annual Iri-ji (new yam) festival with masquerade displays.

The nearest railway station is in Onitsha.

Agulu is on the Awka–Nnewi road, about 20 minutes south of Awka. Buses from Awka and Onitsha pass through.
