Hpasawng (also spelled Hpasawng) is a remote township in southern Kayah State, on the Thai border. The area is heavily forested and mountainous, with a Karenni population. It is very remote and access may be restricted.

The climate is tropical monsoon, with the best weather from November to February.

How to reach

Access is from Loikaw by road (100+ km, 4–5 hr). Permits may be required. The Thai border crossing is closed to most foreign travellers.
