Zelenika

Herceg-Novi, Montenegro

Why visit Zelenika?

Zelenika is a historic coastal village in the Herceg Novi municipality, situated along the Bay of Kotor. It holds a significant place in regional history as the birthplace of organized tourism in Montenegro, where the first hotel on the Montenegrin coast (the Hotel Plaža Zelenika) was built in 1902. Zelenika also features an active commercial port and is characterized by lush green Mediterranean vegetation, which gives the village its name ('zelen' means green in Montenegrin).
