Meljine is a coastal town located in the Herceg Novi municipality, situated just 2 km east of the Herceg Novi Old Town. It serves as a historic transit point and has developed into a popular tourist destination. How do you get there?

Meljine is located along the Adriatic Highway (E65) and is the starting point of the main road leading inland to Trebinje (Bosnia). It is easily reached by local bus from Herceg Novi. Tivat Airport is about 25 km away via the ferry.

The town is flat and easily walkable. It is connected to Herceg Novi and Igalo by the 7-km seafront promenade (Šetalište Pet Danica), making walking to the city center very easy.

What are the things to do?

The Savina Monastery, located on the border of Meljine and Herceg Novi, is a magnificent Serbian Orthodox monastery complex featuring three churches, beautiful baroque architecture, and historic frescoes. The historic Lazure Marina & Hotel, housed in a beautifully restored 18th-century Venetian lazaretto (quarantine station), is also worth seeing.

Walk along the seafront promenade to Herceg Novi. Relax on the sandy and pebble beaches. Pamper yourself at the luxury spa facilities at the Lazure complex. Visit the historic monastery gardens.
