Grand Bois

Grand Bois is a village in the northern part of the Savanne District, located near the boundary with Plaines Wilhems. It is primarily a residential area with some agricultural activity in the surrounding fields. The village offers a quiet, rural atmosphere and is conveniently close to Curepipe.

Grand Bois is 12 km north of Souillac and 5 km south of Curepipe. Buses from Souillac, Curepipe, and Port Louis serve the area at regular intervals. A taxi from Curepipe costs around MUR 200.

The village is small and easily explored on foot. Buses connect to Curepipe and Souillac.

The surrounding landscape of green hills and farmland. The small church is a local landmark.

Quiet countryside walks along the lanes between the fields.

Shops sell soft drinks and bottled water.

Grand Bois has no tourist accommodation. Stay in Curepipe (5 km north) or Souillac (12 km south).
