About Baie aux Huitres

Baie aux Huitres (Oyster Bay) is a beautiful horseshoe-shaped bay on the southeast coast of Rodrigues Island. Its calm, crystal-clear turquoise waters and white-sand beach make it one of the most scenic spots on the island. The bay is also the main departure point for boat trips to Île aux Cocos, a protected nature reserve.

How to reach

Baie aux Huitres is 5 km southeast of Port Mathurin. Taxi from Port Mathurin costs around MUR 250.

The bay is compact and easily explored on foot. Boat trips to Île aux Cocos can be arranged at the beach.
