Roches Noires

Rivière du Rempart, Mauritius

About Roches Noires

Roches Noires (Black Rocks) is a coastal area on the northeast coast of Mauritius, named for the striking black volcanic rock formations that line the shore. The rocks create natural tidal pools and a dramatic lunar-like landscape contrasting with the turquoise lagoon. It is a beautiful spot for photography and exploring at low tide.
