Seberang Takir

Terengganu, Malaysia

Why visit Seberang Takir?

Seberang Takir is a small fishing town in Kuala Nerus District, across the Terengganu River estuary from Kuala Terengganu city centre. It retains a strong village character, with cottage industries such as belacan and anchovy processing and batik printing near its jetty; small roofed water taxis known as bot penambang still ferry passengers across the river. Traditional boat-building itself is more closely associated with nearby villages such as Pulau Duyong and Kampung Seberang Bukit Tumboh, both a short distance away in the same district.
