Besut

Terengganu, Malaysia

Why visit Besut?

Besut is a district in northern Terengganu, encompassing the fishing village of Kuala Besut, the main jumping-off point for the Perhentian Islands. Kuala Besut Jetty is the closest mainland jetty to the islands, with the crossing to Pulau Perhentian Besar or Pulau Perhentian Kecil taking roughly 45 minutes to an hour. The wider district is otherwise a quiet inland area of padi fields and traditional Malay villages.
