Murang'a, Kenya

Why visit Kangema?

Kangema is a highland town in northern Murang'a County, roughly 100 km by road north of Nairobi, on the eastern flank of the Aberdare Range. It is the headquarters township of Kangema Constituency and the wider Murang'a North area, and its economy rests on tea, coffee, wattle, and subsistence farming, with trade centred on Kangema and the neighbouring towns of Gakira, Gitugu, Kiairathe, Kanyenya-ini, and Rwathia. The Aberdare Ranges nearby are known for scenic landscapes, waterfalls, and wildlife. Kangema Constituency has produced nationally prominent politicians, including former cabinet minister Joseph Kamotho.
