Oita, Japan

About Usa

Usa (宇佐) is a city in northern Oita Prefecture, best known for Usa Jingu, one of Japan's most important Shinto shrines and the head shrine of the Hachiman faith (the god of war and agriculture). The shrine's striking vermilion buildings date back to the 8th century. Usa also has a charming retro shopping street and is the starting point for exploring the Kunisaki Peninsula. Spring and autumn are the best seasons.
