Umm al-Fahm (Hebrew: אום אל-פחם, Arabic: أم الفحم) is an Arab city in the Wadi Ara region of northern Israel, with a population of approximately 57,000, making it one of the largest Arab cities in Israel. Located on a hilltop in the Menashe Heights, it overlooks the Jezreel Valley to the east and the coastal plain to the west. The population is predominantly Muslim.
The city has a strong sense of community and tradition. It is known for the Umm al-Fahm Art Gallery, which has gained national recognition as a significant venue for contemporary art, particularly art by Arab-Israeli artists. The climate is Mediterranean with warm summers and mild winters.

By Plane
Ben Gurion Airport (TLV) is approximately 80 km south. Haifa Airport (HFA) is about 40 km north.
By Train
There is no train station in Umm al-Fahm. The nearest station is in Hadera or Binyamina (about 25 km west).
By Car / Road
From Haifa: approximately 40 km (40 min) via Route 65. From Tel Aviv: approximately 80 km (1 hour) via Route 6 and Route 65. From Afula: approximately 30 km (30 min) via Route 65. Bus services connect to Haifa and other cities via Route 65.
The city is spread across hilly terrain. A car or taxi is recommended. Walking within the center is feasible.
