Morne Rouge
Saint George, Grenada
Why visit Morne Rouge?
Morne Rouge is a small residential community in St George parish, Grenada, situated on the hillside above the western end of Grand Anse beach. The name means "Red Hill" in French, referring to the reddish soil of the area. Morne Rouge is known locally as "BBC Beach" area, after the former Blanco's Beach Club. The community offers a quieter alternative to the Grand Anse beach strip while remaining within easy reach of all tourist amenities.
The elevated position provides cooling breezes and views over the Caribbean Sea. The area has a mix of local homes and rental properties, with tropical gardens and fruit trees throughout. Morne Rouge Beach, the small beach below the community, is generally less crowded than Grand Anse and popular with locals.
