About Chakvi

Chakvi (Georgian: ჩაქვი) is a coastal settlement in Ajaria, located about 12 km north of Batumi. It was developed as a resort in the Soviet era and is best known for its tea plantations, which produced some of the USSR's finest teas. Today Chakvi is a relaxed beach destination with a long pebble shore, a mix of Soviet-era sanatoriums and modern guesthouses, and a growing wine scene.
