Why visit Owendo?

Owendo is the main seaport and industrial suburb of Libreville, located on the Gabon Estuary about 10 km south of the city centre. It is the terminus of the Trans-Gabon Railway and handles most of Gabon's maritime trade, including timber and manganese exports. The town has a utilitarian character with port facilities, warehouses, and railway yards. It is not a tourist destination but a functional transport hub.
