By Plane

Hawassa Airport (AWA IATA) has domestic flights from Addis Ababa via Ethiopian Airlines.

By Train

Hawassa is 275 km south of Addis Ababa on a good paved road (4–5 hours). Buses from Addis Ababa (at Autobus Tera) run frequently.

Bajajs are the main transport. The lakefront is walkable.
