Dubti

Dubti is a small town in the Afar Region of north-eastern Ethiopia, situated on the main Highway 1 corridor between Logiya and the northern Afar settlements. It serves as a local market centre for the surrounding pastoralist communities. The town lies in the arid lowlands of the Afar Depression and experiences very high temperatures for much of the year.

The nearest major airport is Kombolcha (DSE IATA), approximately 220 km west.

By Car / Road

Dubti sits on Highway 1, the main north-south road through the Afar region. Buses and minibuses travelling between Logiya and northern towns such as Chifra pass through regularly.

Dubti is small enough to walk across. Bajajs connect the market area to the highway junction.

Simple eateries near the market serve injera, rice, and meat.

Bottled water and soft drinks are available. Hot tea is the most common beverage.

Basic accommodation can be found at roadside guesthouses in Dubti or in nearby Logiya (30 km south).
