Logiya
Afar, Ethiopia
Why visit Logiya?
Logiya (also spelled Logia) is a key transport junction town in the Afar Region of north-eastern Ethiopia. It sits where the road from Addis Ababa (Highway 1) meets the spur roads to Asaita and the central Afar settlements. Logiya has grown as a commercial and transport hub, with a busy market, fuel stations, and a cluster of hotels catering to travellers heading into the Danakil Depression.
The town lies in the hot, arid lowlands at an elevation of about 400 m. Temperatures regularly exceed 40°C in the dry season, making it one of the hottest inhabited places in Ethiopia.
