Why visit Geroskipou?
Geroskipou (Greek: Γεροσκήπου) is a coastal town located immediately east of Paphos in the southwest of Cyprus. Its name, deriving from the ancient Greek "Hieros Kipos" meaning "Sacred Garden," refers to the legendary sacred gardens of the goddess Aphrodite, which were once located here and stretched down to the sea. The town combines a rich historical heritage with a relaxed, suburban character.
Today, Geroskipou is famous throughout Cyprus and beyond for its production of loukoumi (often known as Cyprus Delight), a traditional sweet that has been awarded Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) status by the European Union. The town boasts a pleasant Mediterranean climate with warm, dry summers and mild winters, making it a popular destination year-round.
