Taing Kouk

Kampong Thum, Cambodia

About Taing Kouk

Taing Kouk is a town and district in Kampong Thum, Cambodia. The area is predominantly agricultural, with rice farming and rural livelihoods shaping daily life. Like much of rural Cambodia, it offers visitors a glimpse into traditional Khmer village culture away from the better-known tourist circuits.

The dry season from November to April is the best time to visit, with cooler temperatures and minimal rainfall. The wet season (May–October) brings lush green landscapes but can make rural roads difficult to navigate. Most visitors pass through briefly, but those who stay find a quiet, authentic slice of Cambodian life.
