Rasony

Rasony (Расоны) is an urban-type settlement of about 5,500 people in northern Viciebskaja voblasć, located near the border with Latvia and Russia. First mentioned in 1521, it was a modest settlement in the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. The area is known for its numerous lakes, forests, and the Sebezhsky National Park on the Russian side of the border. Rasony has a very quiet, remote feel. The climate is continental: warm summers (17–23°C) and cold winters (−5 to −10°C).

Vitebsk Airport (VTB) is about 160 km southeast. Taxi costs BYN 180–220 (2 hr).

By Train

Rasony has no railway station. The nearest station is in Drissa (Vyerkhnyadzvinsk, 50 km south).

By Car / Road

From Vitebsk, take the P115 north via Haradok — about 120 km (1.5 hr). Roads are in fair condition. Buses from Vitebsk run 1–2 times daily (2.5 hr, BYN 8).

The settlement is walkable.
