Why visit Pastavy?

Pastavy (Паставы) is a historic town of about 20,000 people in western Viciebskaja voblasć, located on the Myadzelka River. First mentioned in 1409, it was a private town of the Tyzenhaus noble family. Pastavy is famous for its striking neo-Gothic Church of St. Anthony (Касцёл Святога Антонія), one of the most beautiful churches in Belarus. The town has a well-preserved historic centre with a market square, 19th-century buildings, and a laid-back atmosphere. The climate is continental: warm summers (17–23°C) and cold winters (−5 to −10°C).
