Mamrux

Mamrux is a village in the Zaqatala District of north-western Azerbaijan, located in the Greater Caucasus foothills north-west of Zaqatala city. It is an Avar-populated village typical of the mountain communities in this ethnically diverse region of Azerbaijan.

The climate is mild with warm summers and cold, snowy winters. Spring and autumn are the most pleasant visiting seasons.

Mamrux is a quiet, traditional village with minimal infrastructure. It offers a rural setting for exploring the Caucasus mountains and experiencing Avar village life.

The nearest major airport is Ganja International Airport (GNJ), about 170 km east (2.5 hours by car).

By Car / Road

Mamrux is about 15 km north-west of Zaqatala city, reached via local roads through the Caucasus foothills. A 4WD vehicle is recommended for the final approach. A taxi from Zaqatala costs 10–15 AZN.

The village is walkable. A vehicle is needed for exploring the surrounding area.
