Adigun

Adigun is a village in Saatly Rayon, south-central Azerbaijan, situated on the Mughan plain near the Kura River. Like settlements across the district, Adigun is agricultural — cotton, grain, and melons are the main crops, supported by irrigation canals. The village is small and peaceful, offering a simple rural experience far from the tourist trail. The best times to visit are April–May and September–October, when temperatures are tolerable.

By Plane

Heydar Aliyev International Airport (GYD) in Baku, about 190 km northeast, is the nearest major airport. Travel to Saatli (2.5 hours), then onward to Adigun by taxi (15 minutes).

By Car / Road

From Saatli town, head south on a local road for roughly 10 km. The road is paved in sections. A taxi from Saatli costs 8–10 AZN.

Adigun is tiny — walkable end to end in under 10 minutes. The surrounding farmland is accessible via dirt tracks.

• Kura River — The river flows near the village, with riverside spots suitable for picnics.

• Cotton and melon fields — The characteristic crops of the Mughan plain.

• Village mosque — A small mosque at the village centre.

• Riverside walks — Walk to the Kura River for a peaceful afternoon.

• Adigun shop — Basic groceries.
• Saatli restaurants — Return to Saatli for full meals (5–12 AZN).

Bring bottled water. Tap water is not recommended.

• Saatli accommodation — Adigun has no lodging. Stay in Saatli, 15 minutes away (25–70 AZN per night).

A small village shop sells basic provisions. For a proper market, go to Saatli.

• Saatli (10 km north, 15 min) — Bazaar, museum, and transport connections.
• Saricalar (8 km north, 10 min) — A neighbouring village in Saatly Rayon.
• Varxan (10 km north, 12 min) — A farming village with cotton fields.
• Sabirabad (30 km northeast, 30 min) — The Sabirabad History Museum and Kura riverbank.
