Bash Dashagil

Bash Dashagil is a village in Oğuz District in north-central Azerbaijan, located about 8 km northeast of Oghuz town in a valley of the Greater Caucasus foothills. The village is surrounded by forests, orchards, and pastureland. The Dashagil River runs through the valley, providing water for agriculture.

The climate is mild in summer and cold in winter. Spring (April–June) and autumn (September–October) are the most pleasant seasons.

From Oghuz, drive 8 km northeast (15 min). A taxi costs 8–10 AZN. The road is paved.

Walkable. A vehicle useful for forest exploration.

• Hiking — Short walks along the river and into the forest.

• Apple picking in autumn — Local orchards produce apples and pears.

There is no restaurant in Bash Dashagil. Meals are available through homestay arrangements featuring local produce. Self-catering with supplies from Oghuz is also possible.
