Yenikand

Beyləqan, Azerbaijan

Why visit Yenikand?

Yenikand is a small village in the Beyləqan district of south-central Azerbaijan, located about 15 km north of the district capital Beylagan. Its name means "new village" in Azerbaijani, reflecting its more recent establishment compared to the ancient settlements of the region. Surrounded by cotton fields, wheat farms, and irrigation canals, it is a quiet agricultural community in the Kura-Araz lowlands.

The climate is continental: extremely hot in summer (34–40 °C), mild in winter (0–8 °C), and dry year-round. Spring (April–May) and autumn (September–October) are the best times for a visit.
