Aldosa
La Massana, Andorra
Why visit Aldosa?
Aldosa — properly L'Aldosa de la Massana — is a small village in La Massana parish, Andorra, on the right bank of the Valira del Nord river at about 1,260 m, ~1.5 km north of the parish capital on the CG-3 road toward Ordino. It is one of the seven traditional quarts of La Massana, with a few hundred permanent residents. The village preserves a recognisable traditional core of stone-and-slate houses, with a tiny Romanesque-origin chapel and several restored bordes.
For visitors Aldosa is largely a residential and pass-through village rather than a destination in its own right, but it makes a useful, quieter alternative to staying in the busier centres of La Massana and Arinsal — close enough to Vallnord skiing, the Comic Museum and Casa Rull to be convenient, far enough from the strip-style resort buildings to feel like real Andorra.
Best time to visit: June–September for green-season walking; December–April when combining with Vallnord skiing.

The traditional core — Stone-and-slate houses on narrow lanes; less photographed than Pal but with a similar vernacular character.
Restored bordes along the village edge — Several converted to homes and rural lodgings.

Walk between Aldosa, La Massana and Anyós — Easy 1–2 hr loops on the GR P-1 and river paths.
Use as a quiet base for Vallnord skiing or Ordino activities — Arinsal cable car ~8 km, Ordino centre ~3 km, Vall de Sorteny ~12 km.
Mountain biking — Routes up the valley side; bike park accessed from La Massana / Arinsal.
Photograph the village — Best in soft early-morning light against the Comapedrosa massif.
