About Khadir

Khadir (خدیر) is a district in central-eastern Daykundi Province, Afghanistan, located south-east of Nili. The district centre is a small Hazara town serving the surrounding rural communities. The area is mountainous, with traditional agriculture and livestock forming the economic base.

The population is predominantly Hazara. The climate is cold in winter and mild in summer.

The nearest airports are Bamyan Airport (BIN, 170 km north-east) and Herat International Airport (430 km west). A taxi from Nili (40 km north-west, 1 hour) costs around 500–700 Afs.

By Car / Road

Khadir is connected by road to Nili (40 km north-west) and to Ghazni Province to the east. Roads are rough and may be impassable in winter.
