Good to Know

Swiss rail savings

The Swiss Half Fare Card cuts most train, cable-car and excursion fares in half, and the Swiss Family Card lets children under 16 travel free with a parent. Both pay for themselves quickly on a trip this active.

Skip the taxis

Taxis are very expensive across Switzerland. They are handy for short hops but add up fast on longer excursions. The rail, gondola and boat network covers almost everything you will want to reach.

Book timed tickets early

Jungfraujoch, Disneyland Paris and the TGV Lyria to Paris all use dated or timed tickets. For a group of ten, reserve seats and park entries well ahead to travel together and lock in group rates.

Weather-flex the alpine days

Keep the free Interlaken day flexible so the Jungfraujoch and Grindelwald First outings can be shifted to the clearest weather. The summit views are worth waiting for a blue-sky window.

Packing for high altitude

Jungfraujoch sits above 3,400m and stays cold year-round, even in June. Bring warm layers, sunglasses and sunscreen for the glacier, alongside lighter clothes for Paris.
