About Ataq
Ataq is a town in central Yemen and the capital of Shabwah Governorate. It lies in the Hadhramawt region at the edge of the Ramlat al-Sab'atayn desert. The town has a small museum and market. The surrounding area is known for oil and gas production. The climate is extremely hot; best visited November to February.
