Haydan
Şāʻdah, Yemen
Why visit Haydan?
Haydan is a mountainous district of Sa'dah Governorate, Yemen, with a population of roughly 60,000 as of the last available census; its largest town, Haydan as-Sham, sits in the mountains southwest of Sa'dah city. The district gained international attention in October 2015 when a Saudi-led coalition airstrike destroyed a hospital there run by Médecins Sans Frontières, an incident that drew accusations of a possible war crime and left the wider area without access to the region's main source of medical care.
