About Can Giuoc
Cần Giuộc is a rural district and township in Long An Province, Vietnam, located roughly 40 km southwest of Ho Chi Minh City in the northern Mekong Delta. It is one of Long An's most populous and agriculturally productive districts, known for its extensive market gardens, rice paddies, and fruit orchards. The district town of Cần Giuộc serves as the commercial and administrative centre.
Cần Giuộc sits on the Cần Giuộc River, with its southern boundary formed by the Soài Rạp River. The district has experienced significant growth in recent decades due to its proximity to Ho Chi Minh City and the expansion of industrial zones. Despite industrialisation, it remains a major supplier of fresh vegetables to Ho Chi Minh City's markets. The climate is tropical monsoon with a rainy season from May to November and a dry season from December to April.
