About An Minh

An Minh is a rural district of Kiến Giang province in the Mekong Delta region of southern Vietnam. Located along the Gulf of Thailand coast, the district is known for its coastal fishing communities, agricultural land, and the southern reaches of the U Minh forest ecosystem. The district capital is the township of An Minh. The economy is based on fishing, aquaculture, and rice farming.

The climate is tropical monsoon with a distinct wet season from May to October. The coastal location and proximity to the U Minh wetlands give the area a rich biodiversity.

The nearest airport is Rach Gia Airport (VKG IATA), approximately 60 km north. Buses and taxis connect the airport to An Minh town.

An Minh lies south of Rach Gia on provincial roads. The journey from Rach Gia takes about 1 hour 15 minutes by car or bus.
