About Ham Thuan Bac

Hàm Thuận Bắc is a rural district in central Bình Thuận Province, situated inland from the coastal city of Phan Thiết. The district capital is Ma Lâm town. Hàm Thuận Bắc lies along the Quao River valley and is characterised by agricultural land — rice paddies, dragon fruit orchards, and cashew plantations — as well as forested hills to the west bordering Lâm Đồng Province.

The district has a population of about 190,000, making it one of the more populous districts in the province. Its proximity to Phan Thiết means many residents commute to the city for work and services. The climate is tropical monsoon, with a dry season from November to April and rainfall from May to October.
