About Mo Cay Nam
Mỏ Cày Nam (Southern Mỏ Cày) is a rural district in Bến Tre Province, established in March 2009 from the southern portion of the former Mỏ Cày district. Covering 219.9 km² with a population of approximately 186,000, it is the larger of the two Mỏ Cày districts. The district capital is Mỏ Cày town. Mỏ Cày Nam borders Giồng Trôm to the east and northeast, Mỏ Cày Bắc to the north, Thạnh Phú to the south and southwest, and Trà Vinh province to the south and west. The district comprises one township (Mỏ Cày) and 16 communes.
The district's economy is based on agriculture, particularly rice cultivation, coconut production, and fruit orchards. The climate is tropical monsoon with wet and dry seasons.

The nearest airport is Tân Sơn Nhất International Airport (SGN) in Ho Chi Minh City, about 100 km away. From HCMC, take a bus to Bến Tre, then a local bus to Mỏ Cày town.
By Train

Mỏ Cày town is about 30 km south of Bến Tre city via provincial roads. Regular buses connect Bến Tre to Mỏ Cày (45 min, ~25,000 VND). Buses from Ho Chi Minh City to Trà Vinh pass near the district.
Motorbike is the most practical transport. Local buses connect communes, and motorbike taxis are available in Mỏ Cày town. The terrain is flat, making cycling feasible.
