About Binh Dai

Bình Đại is a rural district in northern Bến Tre Province, with its capital town of the same name. Covering 381 km² and home to approximately 137,000 people (2019), the district sits along the northern coast where the Mekong meets the South China Sea. The economy is driven by aquaculture, commerce, and services, with extensive shrimp and fish farming ponds dotting the landscape. Bình Đại is strategically located along National Highway 57B, serving as a commercial hub connecting the economic corridor along the Tiền River.

The district experiences a tropical monsoon climate with distinct wet and dry seasons. The best time to visit is during the dry season (November–April).

By Plane

The nearest airport is Tân Sơn Nhất International Airport (SGN) in Ho Chi Minh City, about 110 km away. From HCMC, take a bus to Bến Tre city, then a local bus heading north to Bình Đại (approximately 35 km).

By Train

By Car / Road

Bình Đại town is about 35 km north of Bến Tre city via National Highway 57B. Regular buses run from Bến Tre's bus station to Bình Đại. From Ho Chi Minh City, take a bus to Bến Tre and transfer.

The town and its communes are best navigated by motorbike or bicycle. Motorbike taxis are available. The flat terrain makes cycling a pleasant option.
