Why visit Bohuslav?

Bohuslav (Ukrainian: Богуслав) is a city in Kyivska oblast, located approximately 110 km south of Kyiv on the Ros River. With a population of about 16,000, it is a historic Cossack town that played a significant role in the Ukrainian national revival. Bohuslav was founded in the 11th century and was an important centre of the Cossack Hetmanate in the 17th century. The city is associated with the poet Taras Shevchenko, who visited several times, and the traditional Ukrainian folk song "Oy u poli krynychenka" originates from this area. Bohuslav is surrounded by scenic hills and forests along the Ros River.
