Ntungamo is a town in south-western Uganda, serving as the administrative headquarters of Ntungamo District. It is historically notable as the home district of President Yoweri Museveni. Located in the Ankole region, the town is surrounded by rolling hills characteristic of western Uganda. Agriculture, including coffee and dairy farming, is the mainstay of the local economy.

The Banyankole people are the dominant ethnic group, and Runyankore is the main language.

By Plane

The nearest airport is Entebbe International Airport (EBB IATA), about 320 km east.

By Train

There is no passenger train service to Ntungamo.

By Car / Road

Matatus from Mbarara and Kabale serve Ntungamo. The town is on the main Mbarara–Kabale road. From Kampala, the journey is about 5 hours.

Boda-bodas are the main local transport. The town centre is small and walkable.
