Gelendost

Isparta, Turkey

Why visit Gelendost?

Gelendost is a district town in central Isparta Province, on the shores of Lake Eğirdir. It is one of three districts (with Eğirdir and Senirkent) that account for the bulk of Isparta's apple production — Isparta is Turkey's leading apple-growing province, and the moderating effect of the surrounding lakes on the local climate is a major reason why. Fertile land reclaimed from drained marshland around the lake decades ago now supports orchards of apples, cherries, and other fruit.
