About Besni
Besni is a town in Adıyaman Province, situated on the western edge of the province near the border with Gaziantep. It's a historic settlement with roots going back to the Hittite period, and was known as Besnus in antiquity. The town sits on a fertile plain and is known for its pistachio orchards and traditional stone houses.
Besni has a continental climate with hot, dry summers and cold winters. Spring and autumn are the best times to visit.

Adıyaman Airport (ADF IATA) is about 50 km east. Alternatively, Gaziantep Airport (GZT IATA) is about 70 km west. Both have flights from Istanbul.

Besni is on the D-360 road between Adıyaman and Gaziantep, about 45 minutes from either city. Regular minibuses and buses connect Besni to both provincial capitals.
