Overview

L'Ariana is a governorate in northern Tunisia, forming part of the greater Tunis metropolitan area. Located just north of Tunis, it is a mix of urban residential districts, suburban developments, and agricultural land. The governorate is named after its capital, Ariana, and includes the coastal areas of Raoued and Kalaat el-Andalous along the Mediterranean. While largely residential and administrative in character, L'Ariana offers visitors easy access to Tunis while providing a quieter base with its own local markets, beaches, and everyday Tunisian life.

When to Visit

The best time to visit L'Ariana is during spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) when temperatures are mild. Summer (June to August) is hot but the coastal areas benefit from sea breezes. Winter (December to February) is cooler and wetter but still pleasant for exploring.
