About Phibun Mangsahan
Phibun Mangsahan (พิบูลมังสาหาร) is a district town in central Ubon Ratchathani province, roughly midway between Ubon city and the Mekong River border with Laos. Originally named Phimun Mangsahan, it was renamed in 1940. The district is predominantly agricultural, with rice farming and rubber plantations characterising the landscape.
The town itself is a quiet local administrative centre with basic services and a relaxed Isaan atmosphere. The climate follows the regional pattern: cool and dry November to February, very hot March to May, and rainy June to October.
