Chiang Kham
Phayao, Thailand
Why visit Chiang Kham?
Chiang Kham (เชียงคำ) is a district town in northeastern Phayao Province, near the border with Laos. It is a centre of Tai Lue culture, an ethnic group with distinctive textiles, dance, and Buddhist traditions. The town serves as a market hub for the surrounding agricultural area and offers a quieter alternative to the more touristy towns of Northern Thailand.
The climate follows the typical Northern Thai pattern: a cool season (Nov–Feb), a hot season (Mar–May), and a rainy season (Jun–Oct). The cool season is most pleasant for visiting.
