About Kamphaeng Saen
Kamphaeng Saen (กำแพงแสน) is the northwesternmost district of Nakhon Pathom province, lying about 30 km northwest of Nakhon Pathom city near the border with Suphanburi and Kanchanaburi provinces. The area was a moated centre of Dvaravati culture dating from 410–870 CE, with the foundation of a Buddhist stupa identified by archaeologists.
Today Kamphaeng Saen is a predominantly agricultural district with a population of about 129,000. It is best known as the site of Kasetsart University's Kamphaeng Saen campus, a major agricultural and veterinary science research centre. The district has a relaxed rural character with fields, orchards, and canals. The climate is tropical with the cool season (November–February) offering the most comfortable temperatures.
